WASAQ (“we”, “us”) operates a marketplace connecting buyers and sellers of shipping containers in Oman. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use the site and why.

What we collect

When you request a quote or list a container, we collect your name, company, email address, phone number, and the details of your request (container type, condition, location, quantity, timing). We also log your IP address and browser user agent for security and abuse prevention.

Why we collect it

We use this data to prepare and deliver quotes, connect buyers with sellers, and operate the marketplace — including verifying requests, communicating with you about them, and keeping the platform secure.

Legal basis

We process your data on the basis of your express consent when you submit a request, in accordance with Oman’s Personal Data Protection Law (Royal Decree 6/2022).

Who we share it with

When you request a quote on a listing, the relevant seller receives the details of your request without your identity. Your name and contact details are shared with a seller only after you accept an offer from them. We also share data with service providers who help us run the platform — our hosting provider and our email delivery provider — solely to provide their service to us.

International transfer

Your data is stored with our database provider’s servers in Frankfurt, Germany. Where data leaves Oman, it is safeguarded through contractual protections with our provider.

Retention

We keep your data for as long as needed to service your request. You can ask us to delete it at any time (see Your rights, below).

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you at any time by emailing info@wasaq.net.

Marketing

We will only send you marketing communications if you separately opt in, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
